Highly recommend https://obsidian.md/ for note taking, brain dumps, writing, second brain, code snippet storage, personal diary and so on.

The local storage system in markdown is the right solution for something so personal and one would never guess how simple the storage is just by using the app interface.

The more I use it the more I love it.

So, my conclusion is: on average for every hour I spend "working" 20 minutes are lost. From breaks, phone calls, random searches I do online, etc.

So, on an 8 hour work day, just around 5 are actually productive.

Today I am sitting on my desk with a pen and a notepad next to me and writing down everything I do and the time it takes me, so I can understand why I keep reaching the end of the day and not move forward with what I had planned for the day.

I have been testing both Pop!_OS for the first time and I like it a lot.

Been testing IPset with the 10k IPs block list from the free tier of https://www.abuseipdb.com/ and it reduced the load on a LAMP server by close to 50%. Pretty amazing if these results are validated over time.

Have you ever used Fastmail? Any thoughts on the service that you would like to share?

For a long time that I noticed the same profile/photo registered on many Mastodon instances. Today I did a search https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22reverenddaeyunkimphd%22 and there are pages and pages of results of different Mastodon instances where an account with the username reverenddaeyunkimphd (or similar) was created. The photos look real (and are not always the same) but this kind of activity is usually a result of a bot.

It blows my mind that there is no simple regex to validate email.

There are websites for the sole purpose of offering a solution, like https://emailregex.com and threads upon threads on StackOverflow and forums of debates around the topic and still each website will randomly refuse valid emails or accept non valid ones.
