I have an account with blockchain.com that I don't use.

Today, I got an email from them saying they were doing a XLM (a crypto currency) airdrop (free tokens) that I needed to finish my identity verification to receive.

So, as all my details were already there, all I needed to do was send them a selfie.

It was the first time in my life someone paid me $25 for a picture of my face čśé

Obviously this is a marketing stunt but $25 for just sending them a picture of my face was pretty cool :)

@hugo It only cost $25 for you to connect your face to your bitcoin wallet? Are you aware of bitcoin's privacy options?

@BitcoinBelle they already had my ID from back in the day on a transaction I had to do long time ago, so they already had a photo ID and my full details.

Still, I don't use them and moved the money over to Bitmex to help fund my bots :)

I don't have a lot of money in crypto, so I never felt the need for a cold/hardware wallet. Is that what you were suggesting? I am always eager to learn.

@hugo @BitcoinBelle I dunno about all the privacy stuff,i just find don't like that senseless energy waste that crypto has become. There address uses for this kind of stuff though so I'm careful not to outright attack crypto and blockchain.
So I have a question instead. Why do you use blockchain? Anything specific you can't do without it?

@zladuric Well, in my case I have some people that pay me in crypto but it was the technology that first got me looking into blockchain.

What can't I do without blockchain? Send money instantly to any part of the world for free. That is the first thing that comes to mind.

Plus buy and sell cryptokitties :P how can someone live without cryptokitties čśé
