Pros and Cons of having yet another federated micro-blogging alternative, this time Medium-like, which would prolly blur the lines between micro and blogging?

@gitzgrog oh, didn't know about movim, gotta check it out. Is there an instance or something with open regs to use or a demo?
@eloisa there's an open instance: https://nl.movim.eu but from what i understand they're using #XMPP instead of #ActivityPub... idk if it can integrate with #Mastodon tho
@eloisa their UI looks and feels good and there are plenty of markup options when you are creating a post - although i couldn't find a way to embed videos (from either youtube or peertube)
@gitzgrog awww, that and lack of compatibility with Masto and Pleroma is a no for me. :(
I really wanted a federated blog service.
I hope Plume does it, and with vid and sound embedds working too.
I want to dump Tumblr but I'll only do it for a federated service nowadays. But then I'm picky. Eh... OK, I may test that one out.

@eloisa i'm very interested in the project, although i just tried #movim and it feels nice to use it. #plume is a bit barebones, but i'd love to see it as a great #medium alternative 🙂
